Reception – Butterflies

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our parents for their tremendous support this year. We are sad that the year has ended without us being able to say goodbye and good luck for next year. We will still be available in Summer via the reception email to support you with any questions you may have. Take care and we will see you safely in September.

Welcome to Butterflies 1 and 2. Our teachers are Mrs Lindley and Miss Towe. Our class is supported every day by Mrs. Domzalski and Mrs Hardy. We work together in one Early Years unit, alongside Nursery. we realise that this is a very unusual year in that we are unable to meet the parents and children of our new butterflies. Miss Towe and I have put together a power point with a little video and useful information to help with the transition to Reception.

In Reception, the children learn through the activities and resources in the continuous provision. There is a balance between child-led learning and teacher led activities.

Our topics often change throughout the year to follow the children’s interests. However, our planned topics this academic year are:

Autumn 1: Superheroes

Autumn 2: Celebrations & Special Events

Spring 1: Winter Wonderland

Spring 2: New Beginnings

Summer 1:Once Upon a Time

Summer 2 Mini-beasts

Working with Parents to support Children’s Learning

In this section we have added links to websites to support parents with learning for little ones, including a range of activities to keep them busy outside in the garden or on a walk.
